DTN Closing Livestock Comment 09/28 15:32
Livestock Continue to Rally Through Thursday's End

It was a strong technical day for the livestock contracts as all three of
the markets closed higher despite there being concerns still about a government
shutdown.

GENERAL COMMENTS:

It was a strong technical day for the livestock contracts as all three
markets closed higher. It will be especially interesting, however, to see how
traders view the Quarterly Hogs and Pigs Report Friday morning as the report
shared mixed messages. Hog prices closed lower on the Daily Direct Afternoon
Hog Report, down $1.86 with a weighted average price of $74.76 on 2,955 head.
December corn is up 5 1/4 cents per bushel and December soybean meal is up
$2.40. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 91.05 points.
